Job Summary:

Job Title: Deli Hot Bar Cook

Availability: Part or Full Time

Reports To: Deli Department Manager

Deli Hot Bar Cooks have the opportunity to improve the breakfast, lunch, and dinner tables of our guests by providing a wide variety of delicious meal options. Now hiring for our AM or PM shifts.

Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist guests with finding items, answer questions and provide deli recommendations
  • Provide excellent services to all guests
  • Receive, prepare, and fulfill guest orders and other special requests
  • Addresses guest concerns and resolves issues by practicing the boomerang principal
  • Oversee hot bar and maintains high quality conditions
  • Collects food temperatures and maintains all hot food logs
  • Ensures that the shrinking of items follows proper protocol
  • Garnishes hot bar to attract guests to deli selection
  • Prepares meals for the hot bar based upon the deli production schedule
  • Organize, stock, clean, and label hot bar efficiently
  • Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with guests and all personnel
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Complete understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies
  • Knowledge of perishable food
  • Requires proper training and knowledge of the following equipment/procedures: slicers, dishwasher, baler, oven, trash compactor, fryer, hot bar, soup holders, stove top, cook and hold, blaster, and chiller, etc.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace and multitask

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Ability to work at a fast pace in changing temperatures (coolers, kitchens, freezers, sales floor)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Bending, kneeling, standing in place for long periods of time

WORK SCHEDULE

  • The Deli Hot Bar position is a part time or full time, hourly position
  • Schedule may include weekdays, weekends, and holidays
