to view more details about this job. This position supports all Leesburg Police Department operations in conjunction with the co-Police IT Systems Administrator. The IT Systems Administrators play an important role in maintaining, securing, and supporting hardware, systems, and applications in the organization. This role administers, inventories, upgrades, and troubleshoots computers, mobile devices, phones, peripheral devices, and applications so the enterprise is secure and current. The IT Systems Administrators also evaluate system technologies and security protocols to make recommendations including system selection, device and software configuration, implementation, and maintenance of IT enterprise systems and infrastructure. The Leesburg Police Department offers a career development program. The purpose of this program provides a career development plan based on an employee's performance, training, and length of service. Required Qualifications: HS/GED; minimum of two (2) years of course work in computer science, information management systems, or a related field. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an IT-related field or any combination of equivalent training and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Must obtain and maintain VCIN level "B" certification within six (6) months of employment. Must submit to a background investigation, which includes a polygraph examination. Must be able to provide testimony under oath in a court of law. Possession of a valid driver's license and a safe driving record. Appointments to positions in the Police Department are subject to meeting established polygraph and background standards. Position requires the use of personal or Town vehicles on Town business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely. Position requires the performance of other essential and marginal functions depending upon work location, assignment, or shift. Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in computer science. Minimum of five (5) years of IT experience with a minimum of two (2) years of experience supporting law enforcement or other uniformed services. Knowledge of office computer software systems and networks including Microsoft Office Suite, Windows Operating System, and Windows Server environment. Knowledge of computer networks and how they relate to efficient work processes and functions.
