Our Opus team is seeking a Lead Investment Operations Analyst to join our growing team in our Worcester, MA Corporate Headquarters in a hybrid/flex work arrangement.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Lead Operations Analyst supports the accounting and reporting for investment clients. The individual will also support other operational and technology initiatives of Opus Investment Management, Inc. (Opus). Opus is a registered SEC advisor with over $11 billion of assets under management, and is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Hanover Insurance Group, Inc. (The Hanover).

This is a full time, exempt position.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL: Independently prepare and analyze complex financial statements and footnotes, under Statutory and GAAP requirements. Ensure the accurate and timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting by effectively planning, monitoring, and problem solving. Support investment reporting and analysis for internal and external clients using a variety of technology including Clearwater, Factset and Bloomberg, as necessary. Continue to expand accounting expertise by attending webinars, conferences and independently following draft and final guidance changes. Collaborate with the Hanover’s Investment Accounting team. Work closely with third-party service providers, ensuring processing is accurate and timely. Provide client-facing support to internal and external stakeholders with varied requirements, as well as routine reporting and ad-hoc analysis as requested. Own client cash process for assigned accounts, and work with custody operations, portfolio managers and clients as needed. Make well-informed decisions within areas of responsibility considering impacts to operations, compliance, performance, technology, etc. Support RFPs and other business development requests Drive enhanced client experience through leveraging current and future technologies. Identify and implement process efficiencies within operational investment processes as part of daily work. Be a thought partner in seeking solutions to operational complexities. Work effectively on multiple assignments simultaneously across several departments, many with short turnaround times. May assist supervisor or other team members with audit and compliance processes. Communicate answers to internal, external auditors, and compliance teams with accuracy and clarity.

WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY: 5-7 years of experience in a related field or area of specialization. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required. Advanced degree or certification preferred. Experience in insurance GAAP and Statutory accounting and reporting is required. Strong Microsoft Suite skills, including Power BI. Experience with Bloomberg and Clearwater Analytics is preferred.
