Usually welding for mechanical strength.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSResponsible for welding on a variety of items which may be subject to heavy stress or load. Usually welding for mechanical strength.Responsible for quality of work performed in welding area.Accountable for using caution in handling equipment, tools, and parts.Responsible for the general maintenance of both machinery and plant area, including cleaning and maintenance of welding machines and all tools involved in daily production.Responsible for good housekeeping practices in the welding area.Abides by all policies, procedures, and guidelines of the company including good common sense safety practices.Performs all job assignments as instructed by the Group Lead, Assistant Plant Manager and/or Vice President, Operations.RequirementsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREDEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh School Diploma or GEDOne-year certificate from college or technical school and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Basic skills in oxy-acet. torch operation. Heliarc skills and the ability to weld pressurized application are required.
