Job Summary: Mercer County NJ Construction and Development Company is looking for a full time Construction Superintendent to be part of its Construction team. The Construction Superintendent is responsible for the planning, coordination and supervision of all activities of the project. Must be well organized and have the ability to lead and motivate subcontractors, plan well and execute professionally. Ensure job safety and effectively communicate and troubleshoot when issues arise in a timely manner.

Essential Functions

  • Safely manage the project on-site to produce quality workmanship, on time, within budget and schedule, on a daily basis
  • Ensures a safe work site and clean, organized project site
  • Ensures all company policies and procedures and standards are enforced on the project
  • Exhibits strong problem-solving ability
  • Must be able to communicate effectively
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Builds and maintains good working relationships with TWP inspectors, subcontractors and owner rep
  • Schedule all inspections
  • Understand and maintains most current contract documents and scopes that are used to build the project
  • Maintain an as-built set of drawings on site
  • Ensures installations are consistent with contract documents
  • Has knowledge and understanding of the scope of work to construct the project
  • Plans and supervises all other employees/laborer activities
  • Coordinate and plans activities of all contractors
  • Collaborates effectively with the Sr. Project manager on schedules, cost control and materials and other resources
  • Assumes responsibility for all project safety and safety meetings, will be responsible for completing incident reports and job safety assessments
  • Schedules and stages deliveries of materials and products purchased
  • Review invoices for completeness of work approved
  • Ground up construction knowledge
  • Should have 3 to 10 years of experience in multifamily project construction and perform physical duties in the work environment
Job Qualifications:

Required Experience and Education
  • 3+ years of Job Superintendent experience in commercial construction with management and oversight experience over multiple trade disciplines
  • 3+ years' experience in commercial construction or construction management with ground up and fit out projects
  • The ability to ready and interpret drawings/blueprints
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills as well as have a high attention to detail
