Status: Full Time Shift: Monday - Friday 0700 - 1530 Exempt: No Summary: Primarily responsible for the distribution of supplies to patient care areas. Responsibilities include maintaining the supply par levels. Restocking, rotation of supplies and checking outdates of supplies. Works to minimize revenue loss due to missing charges. Replenishes crash carts and monitors expiration dates on cart disposable supplies.2. MATERIALS SERVICES: Receives, stores and issues stock and non-stock supplies and equipment. Maintains inventory levels by checking shelves and preparing orders for delivery. Delivers supplies to the proper departments. Provides backup Courier duties when needed. Other information: Education: High school education or equivalent Knowledge/Skills: Level of knowledge of medical supplies and equipment is preferred. Maintains departmental reports and records and collects statistical data for administrative and regulatory purposes. 2. Establishes and maintains safety, environmental and infection control policies and procedures. 3. Performs physical inventory once a year or as needed. 4. Performs other duties as assigned or requested. 5. Ascertain inventory is rotated and expiration dates are checked regularly. 6. Cleans and maintains storerooms in a neat and safe condition. 7. Reports all problems to department supervisor, manager, or director. 8. Follows North Oaks Health System's Compliance Program and Federal and State guidelines. 9. Attends meetings as required. 10. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, and safety procedures. 11. Assist supervisor or manager in determining supply inventory levels. 12. Assist with answering phones. CENTRAL DISPENSING DUTIES: 1. Monitors patient equipment to make certain equipment is charged properly. 2. Reconciles each unit location to bring stock levels back to par. 3. Provides patient equipment when requested by hospital personnel for patient care including ordering of specialty beds. 4. Replenish crash carts after a code including monitoring expiration dates on cart disposable supplies. MATERIAL SERVICES DUTIES: 1. Provides back up Courier duties when needed. 2. Assist Central Dispensing techs in delivering supplies to stations when needed. 3. Receives and unpacks deliveries of all stock and non-stock supplies and equipment. 4. Checks packing slips against supplies and equipment received and notes discrepancies for Material Services Manager. 5. Ensures that hospital vehicles are cleaned and maintained properly. 6. Fill store room requisitions and tranfers. 7. Responsible for daily orders and delivery of store room supplies for Operating Room, Sterile Processing, and Labor and Delivery. Rotate stock, checks for expired goods, counts in inventory so that buyers can order in a timely manner. 8.
