As a Product Development Engineer I at Donaldson Company, you will not only play a part in creating products that impact lives, but also provide value and direction for the engine filtration industry. In this role, you will support the development of new products and technologies to help Donaldson achieve its aggressive company growth targets. In this role you will work on air filtration products, as part of our Mobile Solutions business unit serving the global customers in the On and Off-Road markets.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Works within and supports the creative process to discover and develop new product ideas or strategic product extensions, and for the translation of research discoveries into usable and marketable products.

  • Supports development of new products by working to assess technical needs and feasibility.

  • Develops, executes, and evaluates fitness for use testing, product specifications and process validation plans.

  • Assists in researching, conducting experiments, gathering data, and developing preliminary findings, and preparing written reports for further review.

  • Implements value added solutions such as new technologies, cost reductions and/or quality improvements.

  • Collaborates with more experienced engineers to provide follow-up and engineering assistance on defined problems.

  • Assists in preparing reports, graphs, planning layouts, and summaries designed to communicate project progress or results.

  • Follows prescribed procedures and conducts analyses to develop design options or recommendations for structures, systems and components.

  • Identifies and assists in the development of needed testing and analytical requirements.

  • Assists with project activities in a way that produces cost effective, on-time results and technical program objectives and product specifications.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering(Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemical, Material Science or similar field)

  • Experience in a position such as engineering, engineering tech, or engineering internship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Mechanical aptitude and hands on experience

  • Demonstrated problem solving skills

  • Demonstrated flexibility when managing through competing projects and priorities

  • Demonstrated ability to present and communicate technical concepts.

  • Experience with CAD packages and product design

  • Proficient in MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Filtration knowledge/experience

Travel:

  • Ability to travel 5-10%
