Job Title: Staff PharmacistJob Description
The staff pharmacist is responsible for interpreting all prescriptions, providing counseling and advice to patients and prescribers, and supervising technicians. Additionally, they will perform final quality checks and support pharmacy management in carrying out the mission of the pharmacy.
Responsibilities
+ Interpret prescription orders and input them into the computer system.
+ Advise patients and doctors about our products.
+ Check compounding formulas and update lot and expiration dates.
+ Perform final checks on all prescriptions.
+ Supervise technicians.
+ Perform initial interpretation of prescriptions.
+ Verify that the prescription was entered into the computer against the hard copy.
+ Accept verbal orders from voicemail, IVR, and direct phone contacts.
+ Answer phones as needed.
+ Monitor compliance with procedures.
+ Follow all state and federal laws.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ PharmD degree
+ Prior authorization experience
+ Customer service skills
+ Registered Pharmacist in Arizona
+ Ability to work as a member of a team in a fast-paced environment
+ Good math skills
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with compounding
+ Experience working in a manufacturing environment
+ Experience working in a federally regulated facility
+ Strong chemistry background
+ Strong non-sterile compounding experience
+ Technical writing skills for writing Standard Operating Procedures
Work Environment
The work environment is a closed-door compounding pharmacy. The facility is dedicated to custom medications and formulas specific to the patient. The pharmacy is growing quickly, anticipating continued growth with new regulations affecting competition.
