Job Summary

Supervises and coordinates the activities of material handlers; oversees the organization, implementation, and maintenance of the facility's physical distribution layout and processes. Oversees the shipping and receiving functions ensuring that all transactions are performed and recorded on a timely basis.

Pay: $18 USD/hr

Responsibilities

  • Interpret weekly production and shipping schedules in order to plan space and labor allocation needs.
  • Review work throughout the work process and at completion to ensure that it has been performed properly.
  • Assign and oversee the work for the staff assigned to the repack/assembly area.
  • Plan and organize the workflow (people, processes, and physical layout) to ensure cost-efficient production.
  • Schedule and prioritize the production activities under the direction of the Warehouse Manager.
  • Ensure that the physical distribution layout and practices support the company's quality and safety policies.
  • Routinely inspect the facility's material handling fleet to ensure proper operation and maintenance, reporting any breakdowns and/or maintenance needs to the Maintenance Supervisor or Plant Manager.
  • Compliance with legal environmental and safety requirements of the area.
  • Know the environmental aspects of the area and its control.
  • Know the environmental impacts associated with their activities.
  • Ensure that the Environmental and Safety policies are followed.
  • Comply with procedures, regulations, and instructions of environmental and safety programs.
  • Promote the fulfillment and awareness of customer requirements, of quality system requirements, and all relevant state, federal, and local legal and regulatory requirements in Environmental and Safety aspects.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Learning Strategies - Selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.
  • Ability to use manual pallet jack or other designated material handling equipment to move finished good parts and/or components to/from the assigned workstation.
  • Speaking - Talking to others to convey information effectively.
Physical Demands
  • Position may require periods of intense physical exertion in conditions of low to high temperatures and humidity.
  • Position requires the ability to stand, bend, and stretch over extended periods of time during a normal work shift.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
