About the job Manufacturing Engineer Benefits: Full PackageRelocation assistance for qualified candidates Principal Function of the Position:This position directs and coordinates manufacturing engineering activities in the production processes involving metal fabrication, machining, welding, painting, and assembly on all shifts. This includes overseeing, coordinating, and actively engaging in manufacturing engineering projects to improve efficiency in product flow, material handling, safety, quality, and productivity. Support continuous improvement initiatives in all areas and disciplines within the facility.This person must communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, and managers at all levels of the organization daily. This person must be able to encourage and promote lean concepts and provide the means for employees at all levels within the operation to give input, share ideas, raise questions, and help make informed business decisions for continually improving programs, procedures, and systems involved in the overall manufacturing process.Primary Responsibilities of this Position: Directly implement required manufacturing programs, processes, and proceduresProvides direction in implementing safety, facility layouts, tooling, and fixturesEnsure that all manufacturing engineering projects are implemented and sustainedEnsure that all manufacturing support is completed promptlyMust understand, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures when leading projects and teamsResponsible for teaching and implementing lean systems and methodologiesLead and mentor production supervisors and other employees in continuous improvement initiativesLead and mentor employees towards root cause solutions of quality issuesLead or assist with Kaizen projectsDevelop and deliver presentations/training for internal and external use as requiredConfers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methodsEnsure the manufacturing routings are accurate and represent the most efficient way to complete a partEnsure that all shop support programming represents the most efficient way to process the partsSupport the manufacturing engineering needs for all shiftsSecondary Duties and Reporting Responsibilities:Prepares daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required by the Director of OperationsProvide significant project support for all areas as directed by my senior management.Physical DemandsSit for long periodsSee the differences between colors, shades, and brightnessHold the arm and hand in one position or hold the hand steady while moving the armUse fingers to grasp, move, or assemble very small objectsUse one or two hands to grasp, move, or assemble objectsMove two or more limbs together (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while remaining in placeMake fast, repeated movements of fingers, hands, and wristsUse muscles to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objectsUse stomach and lower back muscles to support the body for long periods without getting tiredBend, stretch, twist, or reach outEducation RequirementsThis position requires a bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Process, Mechanical Engineering, or another related discipline and a minimum of 3-5 years of experience. Prerequisite Skills and Work ExperiencePrior experience working with manufacturing processes, procedures, product flow, and equipmentPrior experience working with and implementing continuous improvement initiatives (Lean Mfg.)Prior experience working with BOMs, routings, and time and motion studies required to set standardsProficiency in written, verbal, presentation, and telephone communications skillsProficiency in the use of Microsoft products, including Microsoft Word, Access, Excel & PowerPoint Package Details
