Relays visual and environmental information not accessible to the individual. Provides travel supports such as human guide support and transportation that allows safe access to the community. May drive agency, agency-rented, and or personal vehicle on company business. Position may from time to time be stressful and require a high demand of performance. May perform other duties as assigned.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSSuitable work experience may be considered as transferable skills in order to meet minimum requirements of the position and will be considered by the Executive Director of Human Resources.Bachelor Degree in Rehabilitation, Social Work, Education, Vocational Rehabilitation, Psychology, or related field3 years of experience in working with individuals who are Deaf, Deaf-Blind, or Hard-of-Hearing, Blind, and/or Low VisionSign language skills in American Sign Language, Manually Coded English, and/or English and/or Uncontracted Braille and/or in other communication modes used by individuals who are Deaf, Deaf-Blind, or Hard-of-Hearing (e.g., tactile signing, print-on-palm, tangible symbols, etc.)Ability to lift 35 pounds 15% of the timeBasic computer and typing skillsREGULATORYMust be at least 18 years of ageValid driver license, proof of insurance, and 39-month motor vehicle reportAbility to obtain and maintain Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card and FBI National Criminal Records History Report (employer paid)Pass pre-employment drug screen (incudes marijuana, regardless of recreational use laws) (employer paid)DESIRED QUALIFICATIONSPrior experience in providing services and support to individuals are Deaf, Deaf-Blind, or Hard-of-HearingPrior experience in providing services and supports to individuals with disabilitiesFamiliar with the use of assistive technology (AT), assistive listening and/or other technologies to support individuals who are Deaf, Deaf-Blind, Hard-of-Hearing, Blind, or Low VisionKnowledge of uncontracted or contracted BrailleFluency in American Sign Language (ASL)Ability to use the communication systems preferred by individuals who are Deaf-Blind (e.g., ASL, Signed English, Spoken English, writing, large print, and/or Braille)Ability to communicate in Signed EnglishAbility to communicate in Tactile ASLThe above statement reflects the general duties considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job as identified and shall not be considered a detailed description of all work requirements that may be inherent in the job.We are an Affirmative Action Equal Opportunity Employer for all individuals.
