The Opportunity:

The Financial Analysis Intern is a student enrolled in a four-year degree program at a college or University who assists in the day-to-day Financial Planning & Analysis processes and responsibilities within the Finance Department. Under the supervision of the Senior Financial Analyst, the intern is responsible for contributing to financial forecasting, analysis of financial data, and assisting in the preparation of financial reports. The ability to take direction, as needed, from supervisors is required.

Note: This is a 1-2-year on-site internship located in Memphis, TN.

In This Role You Will:
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of financial budgets and forecast.
  • Support month-end and quarter-end financial reporting and reconciliation processes.
  • Participate in the budgeting and planning processes by gathering and analyzing data.
  • Assist with presentations and reports to summarize financial data for management review.
  • Assist with financial analysis of ancillary lines of business, including food and beverage and merchandise.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis as requested.
  • Perform other cross-functional duties to support payroll, accounting, etc. as needed.
The Experience You Will Bring:
  • Enrolled Sophomore or Junior Finance, Accounting, or related major from a four-year college or university;
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Proficient using MS Excel, Word and Outlook;
  • Ability to create Excel spreadsheets and analysis;
  • Ability to work mornings or afternoons for 15-25 hours per week in 4-hour blocks of time;
  • Must be available to commit to at least a one-year internship period in Memphis, TN.

Nice to Have:

  • Previous work experience in an office environment.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools like PowerBI
  • Knowledge of accounting systems, preferably Microsoft Great Plains.
  • Able to work longer hours during summers.
