Vice President Finance

Title: VP Finance Function: Accounting Reporting: CEO

Strategic Financial Management and Insight : The company is a complex organization; a combination of an A&E firm, construction firm, project developer, and nursery, the company has six primary contract types with different cash-flow, capitalization, and revenue recognition rules. Superior financial modeling and strategic management is core to the role to support the CEO and provide strategic financial insight into the company’s growth trajectory. Project timeframes can run from a few months, to over twenty years; ranging from simple T&M based contracts, to more complex pay-for-performance and client delivery risk-transfer contracts.

ERP System implementation and I.T. Management:

The company is currently on several sub-optimal and outdated platforms. Collectively across both organizations they need to be integrated under a single accounting platform. As an operational company, the needs of our front-line team members must come first. Our corporate services are in support of their work to make them more efficient at what they do. This role will be responsible for analyzing, planning, and implementing the companies ERP transition, while ensuring it can integrate with platforms needed to facilitate the effective day-to-day use by our front-line teams, while ensuring more real-time access to accurate data and reporting by the companies’ executive and management teams. Secondly, being a leader in utilizing technology will be a key strategic advantage within our industry in the coming years. This role will help facilitate the development and growth of our technological depth.

Operational Finance:

The VP Finance will manage the company's finance team, optimizing the company’s financial management and processes, assessing, and implementing financial controls and procedures that will effectively close monthly financials, prepare budgets and financial statements, pay taxes, and ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant regulations.

Collaboration:

Along with being a member of the companies’ executive team, the VP Finance will be a key partner and collaborator with both Ecotone divisions, and their respective departments including but not limited to Design/Engineering, Construction/Build, Ecological Mitigation Services, and Business Development. Experience in fully understanding and executing in a POC industry is essential.

Qualifications · Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s Degree preferred. · Fifteen or more years of relevant experience in progressively more responsible roles. · Ten or more years of staff management experience preferred. · Excellence in complex financial modeling is a necessity.
