Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced, dependable non-CDL Class C Box Truck Driver to join our team. You will start and end the workday at the same location and be back home every evening. You are responsible for safely and efficiently driving a commercial truck for extended hours to pick up and deliver freight. Every day you will utilize your strong communication skills to work hand-in-hand with our dispatch team, and represent our company directly with customers.

Responsibilities
  • Load, unload, and transport freight to and from customer locations and airport
  • Collect customers' signatures upon completion of each delivery and document photos of freight
  • Verify that all freight is present, accounted for, properly secured for transportation, and notify dispatch of any freight damage sustained before, during or after transportation
  • Neatly and accurately complete bill of ladings and MAWB's (Master Airway Bill) for airlines to tender freight
  • Maintain driver logbook and daily vehicle inspection report according to I.C.C regulations
  • Promptly report traffic violations, road accidents, vehicle breakdowns or any other delay that may impact safety and/or scheduled delivery times
  • Interact daily with customers and operations team with the highest level of customer service
  • Sit, stand, climb, lift 50 lbs. Must be able to load cargo weighing more than 1000 lbs. with the assistance of a pallet jack
  • Conduct constant communication with the central dispatch for assignments
  • Label and keep organized all pickups and freight onboard
  • Properly and carefully fill out Airway bills prior to tendering cargo to airport
  • Some packing and unpacking of freight in customer offices and shipping locations
Requirements
  • Must hold valid non- CDL C Driver's License
  • Must hold active DOT medical card
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience driving a 26ft truck or larger.
  • Must be able to operate and drive a truck with a capacity of 26,000lbs GVW
  • Ability to work overtime; 10 - 12 hours a day; Overtime
  • Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test
  • Ability to pass a TSA Security Threat Assessment
  • Experienced in commercial driving in winter terrain and conditions
  • Ability to operate handheld computer and cellular telephone effectively
  • Understanding of the rules and regulations of the road and HOS (hours of service) rules
  • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.)
  • Strong communicator and team-player
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
  • Ability to lift over 50lbs at a time.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, crawl, and squat in order to perform a full inspection of the underside of the trailer and inspect tires for adequate inflation and potential damage.
  • Must be able to work outside for short periods of time in all types of weather.
  • Must be able to climb into and out of tractor several times per day using 3 points of contact
Schedule
  • Monday - Friday
  • Full-time
  • $25.00 per hour (overtime eligible)
  • Expected hours: 45 - 55 per week
