ProStaff Workforce Solutions is seeking a Forklift Operator for our client in Somerset, NJ.

Contract to Hire
$19 hourly
Schedule - Monday-Friday - 8 am-4:30pm plus overtime (if needed)

Job Description:
  • Operate Sit-Down Forklift: Safely and efficiently operate a sit-down forklift to move materials within the facility, ensuring proper handling and storage.
  • Loading and Unloading: Load and unload materials from trucks, pallets, racks, and other storage areas with precision to prevent damage to products.
  • Inventory Control: Accurately count and record inventory as materials are moved, ensuring proper documentation of stock levels.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment. Conduct pre-operational checks on forklifts and report any issues.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all goods are handled and stored in a manner that preserves their quality and integrity.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth operations.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on forklifts, such as inspections and battery charging, to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
  • Workspace Maintenance: Keep the warehouse or manufacturing space clean and organized, including removing debris and maintaining clear aisles.
  • Adherence to Policies: Follow company policies, procedures, and guidelines related to safety, quality, and productivity.


Qualifications
  • High diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years forklift experience.
  • Valid forklift certification/license is a plus
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, and withstand prolonged periods of sitting and operating the forklift.
  • Strong commitment to safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Good verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
