Position Overview:

As a Senior Buyer, you will play a critical role in managing the in-bound supply chain for assigned commodities. Your responsibilities will include placing purchase orders, tracking supplier deliveries, managing cost savings projects, and optimizing inventory liability. This dynamic role also involves negotiating pricing with suppliers, ensuring components are delivered on-time, and maintaining accurate system data to support customer commitments. • Place Purchase Orders per Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system notifications. • Ensure on-time delivery of parts as per supplier commitment. • Maintain real-time and accurate system data to support customer commitments. • Optimize costs for components through market information analysis and negotiation. • Manage push-outs, pull-ins, and cancellations per MRP requirements. • Resolve pricing, logistics, and accounting discrepancies with suppliers. • Develop disposition plans for parts in Material Review Board (MRB) and coordinate returns of defective material to suppliers if needed. • Maintain inventory levels in alignment with established policies and goals throughout the product lifecycle. • Manage excess and obsolete inventory with appropriate recovery or disposition plans. • Generate RFQs (Request for Quotation) and perform cost analysis to determine the lowest total cost of ownership. • Assist in supplier selection and qualification in collaboration with supply chain management and engineering. • Recommend process improvements to enhance supply chain efficiencies. • Escalate supply chain issues with suppliers to ensure satisfactory resolutions. • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience for Senior Buyer: • Bachelor's degree or a minimum of four (4) years of experience in the Electronics Manufacturing Services industry. • Professional certifications such as APICS are preferred. • Demonstrated knowledge of MRP systems. • Strong negotiation skills, with a collaborative and creative approach. • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence with minimal use of authority. • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting using Excel spreadsheets. • Understanding of total cost of ownership and its application in decision-making. • General knowledge of electronic components used in Printed Circuit Board assembly.
