Primary Objective
The position is responsible for overseeing all product development initiatives and Quality Assurance in-process/final product testing for the organization. This position works closely with sales and site managers to support overall operations and to answer customer questions and secure new business. This position will oversee the safety, quality, and integrity of the lab.
Essential Functions
Direct and perform all aspects of product development, product changes to include development of procedures.
Identify and implement new product variations to meet potential customer requirements, insuring regulatory requirements for DOT and IMDG.
Develop and monitor Quality and Product Development budget.
Lead cross-functional teams and work effectively in a culturally diverse work group.
Provide technical assistance to customers in cases involving product use.
Provide the highest level of internal and external customer service.
Provide technical assistance to sales executive to secure and/or maintain business.
Conduct technical product training to internal employees and sign off on lab qualifications.
Oversee maintenance on Quality Lab analytical equipment.
Develop standard operating procedures and maintain records to comply with regulatory requirements.
Develop and maintain production recipes to maximize product quality and profitability.
Maintain compliance with all certifications related to OCI finished products and procedures.
Audit the operation to ensure all standards are achieved for our specifications.
Completes other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or four years of technical experience
Two years of supervisory experience
Proven ability to lead and facilitate teams
Ability to analyze data to make decisions
QualPro or other statistical quality control program experience is a plus
Supervisory Responsibility
This position oversees three lab technicians and indirectly supervises the operation technicians that run the in-process sampling.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office and chemical plant environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Ability to meet the following physical demands:
Climb 5-10 flights of stairs
Climb ladders
Wear PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, hear protection, safety shoes)
Walk on rough surfaces without assistance
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional nights and weekends may be required based on company needs.
Travel
Limited travel is expected for this position.
