Position Summary
FL85 is seeking a highly skilled and experienced analytical development scientist to lead the development of novel methods to characterize both the nucleic acid cargo and delivery components of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs). The scientist will be a vital part of the Technical Development team, playing a key role in shaping FL85's analytical development capabilities. This is a hands-on role, where the successful candidate will have strong experience with analytical assay development for nucleic acids and LNP formulations.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and optimize novel methods to characterize the structure and function of nucleic acid LNPsDevelop approaches to separate and identify small molecule/lipid components from complex mixturesProvide technical guidance and hands on support for method development and characterizationCollaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support research, formulation, and process development effortsDevelop internal and external testing strategies and manage relationships with CROsAuthor and review SOPs for analytical methods, protocols, technical documents, and reportsQualifications
BS (+8 years experience ), MS (+6 years experience ), or PhD (+2 years experience) in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, biophysics, or related disciplineExpertise in nucleic acid characterization (HPLC/UPLC, LC-MS/MS, CE, UV-Vis)Strong background in analytical method development, particularly chromatographyExperience with lipid/LNP characterization methods is a plus (LC-CAD, NTA, CE)Proven ability to work both independently and on cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environmentAbility to troubleshoot complex problemsHighly self-motivated and comfortable delivering against challenging commitmentsExcellent organizational and communication skills
