REPORTS TO:Senior Director, Communications & Coordinator, Marketing Activation

STATUS:Internship, Unpaid

SUMMARY:This is an exciting opportunity for an individual interested in a career in Marketing. Intern will observe, learn and develop skills necessary to explore career opportunities within the chosen field. Individual may qualify for college credit if allowed by their college/university. This position is an unpaid internship.

LEARNING EXPERIENCE

Intern will learn and be exposed to:
•Inner workings of a major non-profit sports and event organization
•Development of plans for advertising, marketing communications, grass roots promotions, in-game entertainment, event management, game day activations and more
•Detailed and hands-on operations of a marketing department
•Creation of marketing strategies to increase overall brand awareness of the Orange Bowl Committee and its events
•Marketing research projects and creation of event scripts
•Execution of in-game promotions and entertainment
•Coordination of talent and on-stage promotions for the Capital One Orange Bowl Fan Fest
•Development and execution of community promotions and initiatives such as the Creative Art Contest (Grades K-12)
•Logistics associated with researching, ordering and managing inventory of promotional giveaway items
•Operation of mascot appearances; wear OBIE costume and participate in promotional activities as requested
•Participation in the coordination of Orange Bowl promotions such as:

•Orange Bowl Festival Events

•Capital One Orange Bowl

•Capital One Orange Bowl Fan Fest

•Capital One Orange Bowl Halftime Show

•Orange Bowl Basketball Classic

•Orange Bowl Kickoff Party

•Orange Bowl Coaches Luncheon

•Orange Bowl Cheer Championships

•Orange Bowl Creative Art Contest

•Orange Bowl 5K

PREREQUISITES
•Pursuing a degree and/or career in Marketing, Communications, Sport Management or other related fields
•Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop and/or Illustrator
•Ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds

Note:Preferred commitment of a minimum of 20 hours per week consistent with academic demands/schedule.
