Description :

We're is aiding a well-known client in their search for a Senior GCP Cloud Engineer. This will be 100% remote contract and this person will be asked to work Pacific Standard Time. This role is for a senior level GCP engineer that will be working closely with the Architect, and customer engineers.Ideally, they will be experienced in the details of FinOps Practices, and how to baseline, analyze, and implement cost savings measures that will be automated where possible and integrated into initial provisioning of infrastructure and existing pipelines.You will be asked to work closely with project managers and change coordinators to ensure downtime is minimized and changes are documented.

Strong experience designing and building IaaS and PaaS cloud solutions with particular emphasis on Google Cloud;Exceptional communication skills and proven track record of presenting to clients and executive-level leadership;Exposure to SDLC and continuous delivery toolsets: GitLab CI, TravisCI, CircleCI and Jenkins or comparable tools;Developer background, 3+ years of experience using automation scripting languages: Python, Ansible, Bash or similar;Must understand Agile/SCRUM methodologies;Strong experience with cloud solution design patterns (microservices, messaging, distributed caching, containers, IAM etc.);3+ years of experience with infrastructure as code development.

Experience and Skills:

* Implementation experience with identity management and networking segmentation in GCP across multiple VPC networks and multiple projects* Experience leading large-scale network migrations to GCP (i.e. Google Cloud Load Balancing, DNS, Interconnect, CDN, Compute, Networking, Storage, DR, Security, Monitoring, etc.)* Experience with establishing technical strategy and architecture at an enterprise level* Experience in scalable networking design including high availability, redundancy, fail-over and load balancing.* Hands-on experience with one or more third-party networking products.* Understanding of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP/S* Understanding of network security design including segmentation, encryption, logging and monitoring.* Understanding network topologies, load balancing and segmentation* Assessment and demonstration of new technologies; capacity planning; performance tuning

Knowledge of Security, Identity and Access Management (IAM), Key Management, Access Controls and Security Protocols, Network routing, Firewalls, ACL's, cloud IaaS components on GCPExperience with at least one object-oriented programming language such as Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C++.Experience automating Cloud native technologies, deploying applications, and provisioning infrastructure.Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, e.g. Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible.Experience architecting and maintaining high availability production systems.Strong stakeholder management skills, with an ability to engage with and influence a wide range of stakeholders.Strong knowledge of networking and solutioning hybrid-Cloud platforms.Knowledge of observability and monitoring in a Cloud environment, with GCP or third-party solutions.Experience with Agile and DevOps concepts.Strong understanding of CI/CD workflows and tools.Experience with Enterprise-grade authentication (SAML, OAuth, Kerberos, etc.)
