DescriptionThe Clinical Social Worker is responsible for the assessment and treatment of selected patients and their families in the Inpatient Addiction Recovery Service. The Social Worker will ensure provision of appropriate, timely, and effective addiction recovery treatment for patients on a Level IV Detox Unit. Employs a range of clinical interventions such as individual, group, and family treatment. Collaborates with and provides social work consultation to other disciplines within the setting.Conducts psychosocial assessment of patients to evaluate addiction/behavioral health history/emotional issues/coping style, understanding of illness/adjustment/compliance, barriers to care, cultural issues, abuse/neglect and domestic violence.Meets with patients daily to provide emotional support, aftercare planning, referrals for programs, and community resources. Identifies patients' psychosocial, financial, legal, dual diagnoses that effect patient care.When indicated, provides brief family systems work to provide psychoeducation, emotional support, and guidance around aftercare planning. This includes coordinating family/team meetings as needed, providing emotional support and community resources to patient/family management.Facilitates hour-long group sessions on various evidence-based topics, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), behavior change, and relapse prevention.
