Responsibilities

  • What You'll Do:
    • V2X specializes in management and technology support services for a variety of federal agencies and commercial organizations.     • We have an opportunity for a Systems Administrator to support our customer at NAS Oceana in Virginia Beach, VA. Due to the classified nature of this effort all work must be completed at the customer site.
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • The Systems administrator will provide mission-critical support by:
      • Proposing, coordinating, implementing, and enforcing information system security policies, standards and methodologies.
      • Performing vulnerability assessments using the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG), and the Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) Compliance Checker, incorporating automated Benchmarks.
      • Implementing operating systems and network devices security configuration in accordance with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) approved Security Technical Implementation Guides.
      • Performing security control continuous monitoring, security audits, risk analysis and developing mitigation strategies for DoD information systems.
      • Identifying Common Criteria and National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) certified technologies and the DISA Approved Products List (APL).
      • Preparing certification letters and Memoranda of Agreement (MoA) with system owners for interface and networking implementations.
Qualifications
  • Education:
    • BS in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or related area of study.
  • Certifications:
    • Possess DoD Approved Baseline Certification as Information Assurance Technical Level II in accordance with DOD 8570.01-M.
      • Required certifications such as GSEC, Security+CE, SSCP & Vendor certification, and IT Training Provider certificate for network environment main operating system
  • Experience:
    • 7+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator on DoD classified networks may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
  • Specific Area of Experience:
    • 3 to 5 years' experience implementing operating systems and network devices security configuration in accordance with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) approved Security Technical Implementation Guides.
    • 3 to 5 years' experience administering boundary devices (i.e. managed switches, proxy servers, routers, firewalls, cryptography, and intrusion detection systems)
    • 3 to 5 years' experience maintaining DISN connections (e.g., to SlPRNET)
    • 3 to 5 years' experience performing vulnerability assessments using Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG), the Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) Compliance Checker, incorporating automated Benchmarks
    • 3 to 5 years' experience correcting flaws and implementing technical controls in the hardware or software installed within a network environment
    • 3 to 5 years' experience managing DoD Host-Based-Security Systems (HBSS) and DISN-connected campus-scale multi-server installation employing virtualization
  • Skills:
    • Highly motivated and capable of working in a dynamic and fast-paced, schedule constrained, and complex security environment
    • Team-oriented self-starter with the ability to communicate effectively, resolve conflict in a constructive manner, and produce quality products efficiently
    • Strong conceptual thinking and innovation skills
    • Solid interpersonal, communication, and public presentation skills

  • Other Requirements:
    • U.S. citizenship required
    • An active DoD Top Secret clearance
