Overview We are seeking an Inventory Specialist to support store inventory across front end and pharmacy operations. The role requires accurate handling of receiving, counting, pricing, returns, and planograms, with a focus on On-Shelf Availability and inventory accuracy in both front-end and pharmacy areas. This position is located in East Providence, RI. Base pay range: $17.00/hr - $19.00/hr. The actual pay will be based on your skills and experience talk with your recruiter to learn more. Responsibilities Execute, monitor, and train inventory best practices and standard operating procedures for the entire store, including front end and pharmacy. Support pharmacy inventory management activities (receiving, counting, ordering, and facilitating returns). Champion On-Shelf Availability and ensure accuracy of planograms, receipts, counts, pricing, returns, and in-store inventory processes. Review and coordinate the proper use of reports and system applications affecting front end and pharmacy on-hand balances and pricing. Execute and maintain front end and pharmacy asset protection techniques and file claims for warehouse/vendor overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods including prescription drugs. In designated stores, open and close the store in the absence of store management, including systems start-ups, cash handling, cashier responsibilities, and preparing the floor and stock room for business readiness. Engage customers, guide service delivery, and model customer service best practices to ensure a positive customer experience. Lead warehouse and vendor inventory management processes, including creating, reviewing, and receiving orders; scan deliveries and manage One Box receiving and corrective actions with vendors as needed. Verify and post pharmacy shipments and orders as directed, including recalls, vendor orders, and reports on shortages or damaged products. Complete On-Shelf Availability end-to-end processes for planogrammed departments, including disposals, call-ins, returns, and scan outs for all subscribed departments and pharmacy. Assist and coach on pharmacy inventory activities, including recalls, returns, interstore transfers, and ensuring accurate posting of pharmacy/prescription claims. Manage pricing activities (price changes, markdowns, signage accuracy) and support daily pricing tasks with compliance to regulatory requirements. Assist with front end and pharmacy ordering, monitor for excess orders, and maintain consigned inventory where required. Update designated pull and quarantine on-hands and maintain accurate on-hand quantities across all areas, including stockroom and overstock locations. Ensure inventory records are maintained and organized; support physical inventory preparation and participation in inventory day activities. Maintain knowledge of store systems and equipment; assist with package deliveries, scanning, returns, and the Walgreens Pickup Program as applicable. When serving as leader on duty, register all related sales on the POS, address scanning errors, price verifications, and perform returns, refunds, and cash handling as needed. Training & Personal Development Attend company-based trainings for continuous development and complete all required e-learning modules, including safety training requirements. Obtain and maintain a valid pharmacy license/certification as required by the state. Qualifications Basic Qualifications Six months of prior Walgreens experience (internal candidates) or one year of prior retail experience (external candidates). Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico). Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. Achieved an Achieving expectations rating on the last performance review (internal candidates only). Attention to detail and ability to multi-task and execute; experience identifying operational issues and implementing solutions. Preferred Qualifications Experience as a shift lead, pharmacy technician, designated hitter, or customer service associate. Prior Walgreens experience with an evaluation on file.
