We use a variety of patented and proprietary technologies to engineer microbes for the production of specialty chemicals, such as food ingredients, agricultural chemicals, and pharmaceuticals. We are seeking a highly motivated Process Engineer to purify various flavors, fragrances, and natural organics from fermentation-based processes using distillation techniques and related support systems. Deep understating of thermodynamics, kinetics, and analytical chemistry is required. This hands-on position requires a desire and ability to work as an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, as well as the demonstration of a high degree of flexibility, creativity, and initiative applied to the various duties and aspects of the position. This person will be expected to play an integral part of Manus Bio’s process development team located in Augusta, GA.

Responsibilities:

Distillate multicomponent organic mixtures for flavors, fragrances, and natural organics through operation of distillation equipment, including Solvent Extraction, Wiped Film Molecular Distillation, Fractional Distillation, etc. Uses analytical equipment (GC-FID or GC-MS) to determine compositions of mixtures, evaluate efficiencies of distillation, and assess the quality of distillation cuts and final products
