Headquartered in Kennesaw, Georgia, we have a key opportunity for a Premium Accounting Assistant II. This person will report to the Assistant Vice President, Premium Accounting & Financial Systems Manager and will be based in our Kennesaw, GA office. Hybrid Work Schedule.
Position Summary:
Under supervision, collects and distributes premium for all Tokio Marine HCC Life Insurance products. Works up billing list bills for Supplement Health Product and Provides customer service relating to premium records and information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the daily input of all cash received through lockbox, ACH, or wire transfer. Enter all assigned cash into the Quantum Choice accounting system.
- Verify incoming premium checks and corresponding premium statements for accuracy and completeness. Determine whether to apply premium or place in unassigned account until set up in the accounting system by the appropriate regional office.
- Frequent verbal and written contact with the client to resolve any variances in premium received, commissions, rates paid, etc.
- Responsible for the daily preparation of deposits balancing to the bank deposit each day.
- Responsible for ensuring the timely receipt of premiums according to department guidelines.
- Prepare variance and collection letters, binder letters, and premium accounting billing worksheet.
- Answer any questions that other departments and offices may have in regard to application of premiums or account balances.
- Assist in educating and training colleagues in the duties and responsibilities of strong premium accounting practices.
- Access in-house resources including TMHCC Life Supplemental Health staff, Actuarial, Underwriting, and Marketing departments to assist in attaining business goals as necessary.
- Maintain quality, quantity, and turnaround time standards of department and company.
- Complete projects and other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- 2 year accounting degree
- 4 years relevant and progressive experience in area of specialization
- Possess and have ability to apply basic knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures
- Good written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
- Good organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Intermediate proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)
