My client are seeking an experienced Preconstruction Director responsible for overseeing comprehensive MEP delivery for projects within their core markets, including strategic design development and tactical project coordination.

In this role, you would support strategic design development for MEP disciplines during pre-construction, and design development, risk mitigation, relationship management, team member development, and foster effective collaboration.

Ideal candidates for this role will possess:

  • 10 years of related experience and/or training, managing MEP disciplines for design/build or hard bid projects, tailored to the specific market demands.
  • Must possess comprehensive technical knowledge in engineering and design disciplines.
  • Proven track record of spearheading large-scale teams and projects exceeding $50 million.
  • Proficient in preparing cost estimates for design-build projects in the companys core markets.
  • Demonstrable executive or senior management experience within a leading General Contractor or Construction Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Strategy and Execution:

  • Provide input on proposal and execution strategies.
  • Manage pre-construction MEP project administration.
  • Act as a liaison during design development.

Financial and Risk Management:

  • Ensure financial success by monitoring budget, supporting purchasing, and managing change orders.
  • Manage risk by understanding contract terms and assessing risk management strategies.

Communication and Relationship Management:

  • Facilitate effective communication and coordination among project teams, customers, and trade partners.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to maintain strong internal and external relationships.

Team Support and Development:

  • Support project teams with tactical assistance and problem-solving.
  • Mentor and train project team members, fostering a cohesive and productive work environment.
