CNC Machinist

D.L. George and Sons Manufacturing, a family owned and operated company, is seeking a CNC Machinist for 3rd Shift.The CNC Machinist will set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, boring mills and CNC equipment to machine metallic and non-metallic parts according to drawings.

Qualifications and Skills:

• 3 years experience required for operating manual boring mills, planner mills, lathes and vertical Bridgeport mills
• Perform minor editing of CNC programs a plus
• Communication Proficiency
• Mathematical Skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide, algebra, metric/imperial, decimal and fractional
• Overhead crane use experience to lift, move and locate parts/fixtures safely and efficiently
• Mechanical Capacity
• Technical Capacity
• Time Management

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Performs all assigned machine shop operations.
• Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to management or designee.
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures.
• Performs inspection of machined products, and documents results.
• Completes and maintains paperwork for parts.

Physical Requirements:

• Meet D.L. George & Sons medical, drug and alcohol qualifications
• Must be able to walk and stand throughout an 8 hour shift
• Must be able to lift material weighing up to 50 pounds from a floor or table position to chest high using proper lifting techniques
• Must be able to repetitively use arms, hands and fingers in the manipulation of parts, while demonstrating good hand/eye coordination
• Demonstrate good manual dexterity
