Summary

Sells admission tickets and parking passes at the gate houses for the Skagit County Fair and other events at the Fairgrounds.

May also be assigned to accept currency from vendors & exhibitors and for any product purchases.

- Salary upon hire is Step 1 $17.84
- Ticket Seller is Range 6 of the Non-Union Salary Schedule
Essential Functions

Accept currency for ticket and parkign passses at the admission gates with the ability to make change and accurately count cash.

Organize and sell multiple types of tickets simultaneously and accurately.

Maintain a teller-cash box, account for cash and multiple types of numbered tickets and passes.

Attend daily staffing meetings, if necessary.

Collect tickets and authorized passes.

Act as information clerk and distribute grounds maps, brochures, and day schedules.

Supervisory:
None.

Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical path to obtain the required qualifications would be:

- High school diploma or GED.
- Applicant must be 18 years of age or older.

Accepted applicants will be required to attend "Buck's Training" given by Skagit County Treasurer's Office or Parks, Recreation & Fair office.

Requires knowledge of:
  • Cash handling procedures
Requires the ability to:
  • Work with people in a courteous manner
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow the judicial code of ethics
  • Understand verbal instruction and communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Stand and sit for extended periods of time.
Licenses and/or Certifications:
None.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is performed in and outside a gate ticket house or events office and may include standing in the sun and/or rain. Two shifts will be offered with the earliest starting at 7:30 a.m. and the latest ending at approximately 11:00 pm on days of the fair.

Hazards:
Ticket Sellers work sitting and standing alternatively in and outside of the ticket house. Must have the ability to stand and sit for long hours.

Exposure to weather.
