Internship - Credit Analyst, Kenton, OH
Spring 2025 (January 13; May)
Posting will close on October 31, 2024, hiring to follow
To develop knowledge about AgCredit, ACA and the Farm Credit System's operations, products and services and how they relate to the agricultural community. Work closely with the Credit Analyst teams to understand various job functions and gain exposure to different approaches to credit analysis within branch and agribusiness operations. Contribute to the successful operations of the cooperative. Comply with all AgCredit, ACA policies and procedures while maintaining regular and punctual attendance as expected of this position.
Responsibilities
Interns are expected to:
- Learn about the Farm Credit System, AgCredit's operation, its products and services, and the primary job functions of branch positions.
- Develop the skills necessary to effectively promote AgCredit's business by understanding how to market AgCredit's produc ts and services and how to service existing customers.
- Complete assignments and projects both at association and branch levels as assigned and within the specified timeframe.
- Submit a written evaluation of the internship experience to the Human Resources Administrator during the last week of the internship.
To accomplish the above objectives and goals, the intern will:
- Attend the intern orientation, training programs and become familiar with other written materials.
- Shadow and work closely with designated Credit Analyst team member(s) to:
1. Review information packet
2. If assigned, participate in project orientation, all related calls thereafter and contribute towards achieving a positive result of the group project.
3. Review numbered memoranda relative to assignment.
4. Understand various job functions
5. Gain exposure to different approaches to and types of credit analysis, including retail and commercial /capital markets.
- Assist with a team project benchmarking crop production or financial measures.1. Collaborate with Credit Analyst team members to identify targeted measures for the 2022 benchmarking project
2. Assist in compilation and processing of relevant financial information
3. Work with Credit Analyst team members to develop a presentation to present the benchmarking results to AgCredit members.
- Learn fundamentals of analyzing financial information1. Understand balance sheets and income statements
2. Assist with financial data entry into analysis software
3. Learn key ratios and their importance in the decision process
- Participate in field visits with Credit Analysts1. Be exposed to different sizes and types of agricultural operations
2. Attend community events, if applicable
- Shadow select Admin employees1. Obtain a general understanding of the administrative credit function.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- At least one year of post-secondary education and be working towards a 2 or 4 year degree in business, accounting, finance or agriculture.
- Reside in one of the counties serviced by AgCredit and have an interest in agriculture and/or agriculture business.
- Ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of people.
- Knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and required formats to recognize and correct correspondence and reports.
- Ability to work independently under general supervision.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize workload, easily move from one project to another, and ability to be flexible in the workplace.
- Ability to travel to branch offices as well as locations inside and outside the association for training. Appropriate mileage and expenses are reimbursed.

Schedule
- Will be flexible around school schedule
- Student should be willing to commit to roughly 20 work hour per week
- Office Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
