Exempt position

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Buyer/Planner to join our team. The Buyer/Planner is responsible for purchasing materials, components, and services to meet the production and customer requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintains and tracks master schedule including work order creation and maintenance of delivery dates between sales orders and work orders.
  • Generates and analyzes capacity report for all production areas to determine bottlenecks and works with production and management for solutions to resolve any capacity constraints.
  • Works with program managers, purchasing, and production manager to confirm availability of materials and resources to complete new customer orders and pull in requests from customers.
  • Analyzes maintains and executes Materials Requirement Plan (MRP). Identify and appropriately address material supply issues.
  • Maintains data integrity of MRP planning parameters. Continuously plans, schedules, and manages material supply to equal demand.
  • Creates purchase orders for materials, components, equipment, and services in a cost effective and timely manner.
  • Manages supply base and monthly On Time Delivery and Quality. Periodically visits suppliers and participate in supplier audits.
  • Optimizes overall cost of materials and makes sourcing decisions based on overall total cost. When possible, optimizes Purchase Price Variance (PPV) by reducing cost of materials and by limiting unfavorable PPV.

Requirements

Knowledge, skills and abilities:
  • Experience with ERP, MRP and MRP II systems.
  • Quoting experience a plus.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills along with solid problem-solving skills. Ability to work with and lead teams.
  • Computer knowledge is required such as: Microsoft Office: Word and Excel (used for manipulation of data using v-lookup, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Ability to perform/prioritize multiple tasks with attention to detail required.
  • Must be a US person.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's or associate Degree with at least 5 years of equivalent work experience. Electronics manufacturing industry experience a plus. APICS or NAPM certification desired.
