The Full-Time Center Sales Associate works diligently in the sales process, from generating leads to closing sales. He or she delivers world-class customer service that ensures ongoing sales and high levels of customer satisfaction. He or she follows the sales process and contributes new ideas to the store to be as productive as possible. He or she packs and processes shipments for local, national, and international delivery using a variety of carriers and also manages and produces graphics and print orders. In addition, he or she is responsible for operating copiers, fax machines, binding equipment, laminating machines, and point-of-sale devices. The Sales Associate expertly advises our valued customers by providing accurate information on our array of products, services, and best-value options and exhibits confidence by knowing best practices related to the industry. The most successful Sales Associate will constantly strive to meet all sales goals and exceed customer expectations.
The ideal candidate has previous sales experience, strong computer and internet skills, Microsoft Office skills, a high school diploma or GED, a friendly and genuinely helpful demeanor, and a professional appearance. He or she must be a fast learner who makes an effort to learn all aspects of the business in the shortest possible time. He or she must also have open availability to fit the needs of the business.
Responsibilities:
Delivers outstanding customer service to walk-in customers and telephone inquiries
Takes ownership of the customer's shipping needs and offers viable solutions
Continuously practices good listening skills with customers, UPS Store team members, and leadership
Takes action to learn all product and service offerings, alternative solutions, and industry trends
Operates all equipment, software, and devices in an expert fashion and is willing to teach others
Empathizes and manages demanding, impatient, and/or frustrated customers to turn a stressful event into a positive experience
May open and/or close the store and perform end-of-day accounting, etc.
Expertly operates POS equipment
Follows and understands quality guidelines
Frequently multi-tasks while maintaining extreme attention to detail and high quality control
Prioritizes and optimizes the work load to streamline the production flow
Follows the selling process at all times
Greeting and assisting customers immediately upon entry
Works daily to meet and exceeds sales goals
Assists other teammates in fulfilling their personal and professional goals
Contributes to the positive and fun work environment
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required
Sales/service experience
Good communication and people skills
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Suites
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including spelling and math
Prompt, reliable, and responsible
Able to lift 40+ pounds
