Job Description

The Financial Analyst will report to the Motion EU Business Unit Controller and dotted line report to NA Seats & Motion Accounting Manager. This potion will be accountable for producing timely and accurate financial statements while demonstrating accountability and ownership for Motion business. The Financial Analyst will work closely with the Accounting Manager to manage workflows, meet all monthly reporting obligations, prepare analysis of financial data and other duties. This role will demonstrate the ability to look ahead and anticipate future trends and not only report actual results but predict future results. The Financial Analyst will communicate financial concepts to all levels and be able to explain the story behind the numbers.
  • Compiles and reports all monthly financial reports required by ITW Financial Policies
  • Annual Plan (Budget) to actual analysis and reporting
  • Prepares and reports Front-To-Back & Segmented P&L data along with sales forecasting analysis
  • Reviews and finalizes the financial justification for all Capital & large expense requests
  • Play key role in preparing audit materials, including any documentation, and ensures that all entries are entered into the system properly
  • Prepares all payroll and all general ledger journal entries
  • Review and complete accounts reconciliation in timely manner
  • Assist with account receivables and accounts payables when needed
  • Communicates and coordinates accounting policies, practices, and procedures with department and company managers and officials, vendors, reporting agencies, clients, customers, and the public
  • Assist Operations, Engineering and Sourcing teams with data and project management
  • Leading and providing strong guidance with ITW Toolbox initiatives
  • Serving as a backup and/or assisting, as needed, to the Accounting Manager
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree - B.A. /B.S. from four-year College or University in Accounting or Finance. CMA or CPA a plus
  • 1-3 years of experience in Accounting function or demonstrated strong learning capability
  • Exposure to P&L and Balance Sheet reporting
  • Ability to maintain discretion
  • Ability to demonstrate a strong analytical mindset
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to identify areas for opportunity or simplification and implement best practices
  • Strong knowledge of Accounting
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong communication & presentation skills
  • Drive to learn, grow, and succeed
