Accounts Payable Specialist We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This is a long-term contract position that offers the opportunity to manage key accounting functions in a hybrid work environment. The ideal candidate will excel in handling accounts payable tasks with precision and efficiency while contributing to the overall financial operations of our organization. Responsibilities: Process vendor invoices by reviewing, coding, and ensuring compliance with company policies. Manage timely and accurate payments to vendors through checks, ACH, or wire transfers. Reconcile accounts payable records and resolve discrepancies with vendors and team members. Maintain the AP ledger and participate in month-end closing activities. Handle expense reports by verifying approvals and supporting documentation prior to processing. Respond to inquiries related to accounts payable and provide assistance to internal departments. Keep accurate and organized records that align with document retention policies. Support ad-hoc financial projects and contribute to process improvement initiatives. Requirements: Demonstrated experience in accounts payable or a similar financial role. Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities. Familiarity with Dynamics 365 is preferred but not required. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines within a collaborative team environment. Excellent communication skills and a detail-oriented approach. Knowledge of key accounts payable processes, including coding invoices and expense accruals.
