TE Connectivity's Purchasing Teams are responsible for obtaining materials, components, equipment and services, gather quotations, examine bids, and award contracts. They perform cost analysis and volume planning for commodities, evaluate vendor reliability and develop new supply sources where required. They coordinate purchasing activities with the manufacturing and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels and monitor cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value. They also look for and recommend cost saving proposals including make vs. buy analysis, alternative sourcing, and vendor evaluation criteria as well as develop specifications for new contract orders. This Purchasing position is for a 18-24 month assignment implementing SAP to replace an existing ERP system. The person in this role will be part of a 12 person, cross-functional team of experts that will review current business processes and revise, modify or create new business processes to support the SAP conversion. The members of this Local Implementation Team (LIT) are the change agents on the project and have a direct relationship and a key role in the meeting of project objectives and deadlines. The LIT members test the details of the SAP configuration and verifies that data is clean and output results are accurate. LIT member responsibilities include training the business users on the use of SAP and being the primary source of local expertise after project Go-Live. Create, execute, validate, and test business process scenarios and transaction functionality. Review & communicate business process issues with the SAP Core Team & stakeholders. Work collaboratively with other LIT function members and site management. Understand DTO (data take-over) importance, assist in data clean-up, data mapping, data transformation and data loading from the Legacy system into SAP. Track all Issues in own area and communicate these to Core IS/IT team, SAP Team, and Project Leader. Develop Business Documentation: training, SOP's, work instruction & related reference materials. Train Super Users and End Users on the functionality of SAP within the business environment and how this may change the roles and responsibilities compared to the legacy system. Cutover Activities - Support the Deployment Lead the cutover plan, create & execute Go-Live tasks. Provide first level support before and after Go-Live.
