Duties & Responsibilities:

The role of the Medical Staff/Informatics specialist will lead the development and implementation of credentialing processes and procedures, maintaining an accurate practitioner database. Varyingresponsibilities include maintaining reports, handling confidential informationwith discretion, planning, documenting, coordinating meetings, and performingother duties/special projects, as assigned. This position also acts as the liaison between clinical areas and the Informatics System's department by delivering high quality patient care through efficient management of data and technical systems. The Medical Staff/Informatics Specialist is required to maintain an active RN license and will oversee the coordination of employee health initiatives including pre-employment testing, vaccination process, and employee illness tracking.

Experience & Skills Preferred:
  • Associate degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred
  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Kansas
  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional Medical Staff Management (CPMSM) preferred
  • Minimum 3 years' administrative experience required
  • Previous experience with physicians or in amedical related field preferred
  • Knowledge of credentialing principles,including the Medical Staff Standards of JCAHO and Credentialing Standards ofCMS
  • Knowledge of medical and postgraduateeducation
  • Strong computer skills and dexterity, requiredfor data entry and retrieval of patient information
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs,applications, and keyboard; internet and electronic health records
  • Effective verbal and written communicationskills; ability to present information clearly and professionally to varyinglevels of individuals throughout the patient care process with ability to explain complex information ineasy-to-understand language
  • Excellent skills in organization,prioritization, and multi-tasking; a bilityto manage multiple concurrent projects with strong attention to detail
  • Strongindependent judgment and decision-making skills
