This position’s work location is onsite (Longwood) with up to one day per week remote. The selected candidate may only work remotely from a New England state (ME, VT, NH, MA, CT, RI). Exciting opportunity to join the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s social work leadership team as the pediatric leader in the Jimmy Fund Clinic. The Pediatric Clinical Lead Social Worker functions as a clinical supervisor and staff manager, whose expertise, knowledge, clinical acumen, relational skill, and equanimity provide foundational support for pediatric clinical social work staff. The Clinical Lead Social Worker is responsible for clinical practice and programmatic development of the Psychosocial Oncology and Social Work divisions. The Clinical Lead Social Worker is also responsible for daily clinical operations in partnership with the Department Administrative Manager. Candidate must be able to thrive in a fast paced, complex, academic medical environment where the social worker is a key, valued member of the multidisciplinary medical team. This is an opportunity to lead a pediatric social work team and contribute to the field of pediatric psychosocial care in a renowned cancer center that combines compassionate care with a commitment to be on the forefront of developing new and more effective cancer treatments. Master’s Degree in Social Work from accredited program ~ 8 years social work practice in health care, minimum of 2 years in oncology setting or with pediatric oncology patients, clinical supervisory experience required, program or project experience preferred. Bilingual a plus. Expert knowledge of interdisciplinary teamwork and team dynamics, scope of key partnerships and interprofessional roles. Highly skilled at providing consultation to staff and team around complex pediatric patient management, including ethical issues. Expert ability to address problems that are highly varied and complex while incorporating interprofessional input and managing team-related stress. Exhibits emotional intelligence; Ability to assist staffwith their performance, in accordance with institutional and departmental standards and policies. Ability to contribute to profession, care, education and training through leadership, presentations, publications. Demonstrates commitment to diversity and equity efforts, including advocacy and self-education to advance knowledge base of the needs and concerns of underserved and marginalized populations.
