Nurse Manager Pediatric Oncology

Our team is passionate about caring for children, adolescents and young adults with cancer and blood disorders. As a fully integrated childhood cancer program, we provide a continuum of care that is unmatched in the area and are able to manage even the most rare and complex cases. Through our program, patients have access to the latest advancements in care, including lifesaving clinical trials. Our newly opened outpatient clinic offers: •25 patient rooms, inclusive of 16 infusion/treatment and 9 exam rooms. •Pediatric Activity Room •Adolescent and Young Adult Patient Lounge •Phlebotomy and Lab Services •Onsite pharmacy Take a Virtual Tour Our patient population consists of newborn through young adult (30 years) requiring treatment for: •Benign and Malignant Hematology •Sickle Cell Anemia •Hemostasis and Thrombosis •Oncology and Survivorship •Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) •Rainbow Subspecialty Patients with infusion needs Essential Functions Leads the planning, implementation and evaluation of the nursing process. Promotes a positive patient experience and environment that supports family centered care reflective of the patient population. Builds and retains a talented and inspired workforce by developing, engaging and empowering personnel to fulfill their potential. Collaborates as an integrated team by sharing information, best practices and results openly through practice in a professional governance model. Achieves quality outcomes through the utilization of a performance improvement process. Uses evidence based practice and research to guide patient care through interdisciplinary collaboration. Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace. Qualifications:QualificationsEducation (BSN) Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required or (MSN) Master's Degree in Nursing Work Experience 3+ years progressive clinical and management experience Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Demonstrates skills in human relations, human & material resource management. Required Evidence of ability to provide exceptional nursing leadership. Required Demonstrates the ability to facilitate change, excellent communication and organizational skills. Required Demonstrates a professional demeanor when responding to patients/customers. Required Able to handle high-pressure situations. Required Knowledge of current technology and equipment to meet patient and employee needs. Required PC and computer applications.
