  • Building a world-class, consumer-focused caring platform that enables Hallmark's lines of business (LOB) across the enterprise (Crayola, Hallmark Media, Hallmark Global) to accelerate their direct-to-consumer product strategies
  • Developing a Cloud-first, multi-tenant digital platform that provides capabilities and services, such as a unified Hallmark Profile, Product Recommendations, Global Payment services, etc.

As a member of the DCOE team you'll partner with high functioning, high energy teams of cross-functional disciplines that bring products like Hallmark.com and our Hallmark Gold Crown Omnichannel network to life for our consumers. With a consumer-first focus this group delivers impactful digital solutions that have a direct impact on consumer brand engagement and retention in the digital space, which results in revenue growth and brand relevance.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The role of DevOps Engineers exists to bridge the gap between software development and IT operations, with the organizational purpose of improving collaboration, efficiency, and automation within the software development lifecycle. DevOps Engineers streamline the deployment pipeline, automate repetitive tasks, and implement continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices to accelerate software delivery while maintaining reliability and quality.

By fostering a culture of collaboration and automation, DevOps Engineers will enable Hallmark to iterate quickly, deliver value to customers faster, and respond more effectively to market demands. Experienced DevOps engineers at higher progression levels lead strategic initiatives, driving infrastructure automation, continuous improvement, and innovation aligned with organizational objectives. They collaborate cross-functionally, mentor junior team members, and manage risks effectively, ensuring compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements.

As the DevOps Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing our DevOps operations, developing CI/CD pipelines, and driving automation throughout our infrastructure and application deployment processes. You will lead a team of DevOps engineers, work closely with development, operations, and security teams, and be a critical contributor to our engineering culture. This role demands strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a deep commitment to the principles of DevOps and agile methodologies.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

The following is required to be considered for this role:
  • Bachelor's Degree or 4 years professional work experience.
  • 4 years of experience as DevOps Engineer or Software Developer
  • 4 years of experience in Python, Java, and/or Ruby
  • 4 years of experience in scripting languages such as Bash and/or PowerShell
  • 4 years of experience in DevOps tools and technologies
  • 2 years of experience in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Your application will stand out if you have demonstrated knowledge, experience, or skill in the following:
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science or information technology.
  • Familiarity with software development practices, such as version control, code review, and testing.
  • Experience in scripting languages to automate tasks and implement infrastructure as code (IaC) practices.
  • Experience using version control systems (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD), configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet), containerization platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and/or cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Experience with system administration tasks and network fundamentals to configure and manage infrastructure resources.
  • 5 years' experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, including proficiency in cloud-native services, infrastructure provisioning, and management
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
  • Experience with automation tools and practices, such as Ansible, Terraform, or CloudFormation
  • Familiarity with security best practices, compliance standards, and security automation tools is preferred for integrating security into the DevOps workflow and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

This is a hybrid role, with the opportunity to work both on-site at Hallmark's Headquarters and virtually from your residence in the Kansas City, MO metropolitan area.
