Position Summary:

The TPM will be a key contributor in the innovation process as well as the transfer of processes between MEC co-packers to document and transfer depth knowledge regarding co-packers processing capabilities and processes to speed up implementation of new formulas or processes at plants.

The TPM will be accountable for trouble shooting, scale-up and processing functions for both new commercialization launch and existing product supports, including continuous improvement and productivity initiatives.

The TPM will lead all relevant NPD activities during Activation stage of Commercialization and Productivity projects with bottler stakeholders and vendors. He/she will be responsible for the technical facilitation for trial and first production runs at the plants with internal and external stakeholders, with an emphasis of test parameters, process specification, formulations etc.

The TPM will lead all regional technical project activities and timeline, working closely with Commercialization and Productivity Project Managers to help drive projects.

The TPM will lead all technical transfer with Corporate TPM and Global Formula Governance team for batching instructions to help to transfer bench and sensory knowledge to assist co-packers during production runs.

The TPM will represent NPD in new Plant Qualification projects to ensure that the right information about formulas and processes are assessed and communicated.

The TPM will manage the in-house knowledge base of processing of MEC product portfolio to enable a global approach on the collected efforts between cross functional teams and flavor houses.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for plant capability assessment from NPD perspective.
  • Provide commercial formula guidelines to Corporate Global Formula Governance team for formula specification development
  • Lead processing specific technical transfer meetings with corporate TPM, regarding processing know how and best practices, control points and sensory targets for new formulas to enable successful transfer of mixing instructions to new co-packers
  • Lead plant engagement meeting with co-packers and bottlers for technical scoping.
  • Manage documents that are related to improving/ establishing process parameters.
  • Act as MEC technical lead for formula commercialization at co-packers and bottlers:
  • Management maintains the right to add or change the duties of this position at any time.
  • Coordinate with flavor houses, vendors and OPS to ensure ingredient availability for trials / first production runs
  • Establish test protocols during test runs to ensure co-packer and other technical resources at MEC are aligned.
  • Attend commercialization calls with bottler's technical teams to help to explain, standardize and document MEC formulas and processing criteria's.
  • Lead plant trials or first production runs at co-packer / bottler's site.
  • Consult on sampling, sensory and analysis of formulations from test runs with the purpose of establishing the right processing. Manage/ design shelf-life tests with external labs if needed.
  • Provide trial report and lead technical transfer discussion with internal teams
  • Provide plant specific information and work closely with Corporate Optimization Manager and Formula Program Sr. Manager to project scoping and planning for regional Productivity initiatives. Responsible for execution and implementation activities.
  • Maintain internal database and educate internal stakeholders in the knowhow of batch mixing, heat processing, retort, pasteurization, aseptic processing, etc. for new products
Position Requirements:
  • Working towards a Bachelor of Science in Food, Chemical, Processing Engineering or other related technical degree is preferred. Related training and experience can be substituted for education.


Pay Rate: $16/hr
