WithersRavenel is recruiting a Project Engineer (PE) to join the expanding and innovative Utilities (Water/Wastewater) Practice Area In this role you will lead and support teammates as you collaborate to create project deliverables.

This is a hybrid role working within a reasonable driving distance to our Cary/Raleigh, North Carolina office locations. We define hybrid work as a work arrangement where employees and supervisors collaborate to establish an in- and out-of-office schedule that "works" for all involved.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all internal aspects and tasks projects including review of data, analyzing information and determining compliance with standards and design concepts.
  • Lead the creation of preliminary and completed layouts, design concepts, and detailed design drawings, ensuring they meet our company and industry standards and codes.
  • Utilize, teach and delegate the use of applications to generate drawings, reports, or other technically based delivered per specific project requirements.
  • Stamp/seal work performed, and work performed by those on your team.
  • Initiate and conduct quality control processes, propose QC improvements, and mentor teammates on technical aspects and policies.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or field of expertise or equivalent experience
  • Licensed Professional Engineer
  • 4+ years of experience in appropriate field of expertise
  • Experience managing utility (primarily water and sewer related) projects; preference given to public sector projects
  • Self-motivated, engaged, and team-oriented with the ability to work independently
  • Handle multiple tasks under pressure and prioritize responsibilities
  • Exhibit leadership in planning and/or design concepts and methods and challenge convention
  • Ability to successfully manage all internal aspects of projects/project tasks
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to mentor and lead technical staff
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D experience
