Our mission is to shape a better tomorrow by connecting people with water and energy.We currently have an exciting opportunity asa Materials PlannerThis role is based in our Extrusion facility in Pineville, North Carolina and reports to the Assistant Plant Manager.Do not miss the opportunity to join a diverse group of people-centric professionals, thought leaders and rapid thinkers, entrepreneurs in spirit and status quo-fightersJob Summary The Materials Planner will ensure the facility has all product, material, equipment and supplies needed to operate efficiently in alignment with policies and standards. They will oversee and coordinate receiving, handling, warehousing and inventory counts of raw material.Principal ResponsibilitiesMaintain raw material inventory levels for Extrusion departmentLead daily material variance reporting efforts and investigate and troubleshoot cycle count variancesParticipate in the creation or update of procedural SOPs if / when required to help prevent future inventory discrepanciesPartner with Compound Plant Department to forecast inventory levels, coordinate orders/deliveries, and prevent material outagesUnderstand and use various inventory system functions related to inventory management such as purchase order receipts, inventory adjustments, transfer order entries, physical inventory count/entry, bill of material (BOM), etc.Notify the Plant Manager of capacity shortages or excesses, anticipated back orders and/or disruption to expected serviceNotify Production Manager and/or Scheduler of interruption in service that causes items to be out of stock due to man, machine or quality problemsReview daily cycle counts and report on weekly cycle count resultsEnsure timely entry for inventory adjustments and file all documents and records for all inventory adjustmentsLead, participate, record, and report monthly and annual physical inventory countsParticipate in daily validation of raw material and pipe productionInvestigate inbound material discrepanciesEnsure timely receipt of delivered raw material purchase orders/transfer orders and filing of all paperworkMonitor, review, and update product bill of material (BOM) as necessary to ensure proper material usage dataReceive and forward Safety Data Sheets to proper personnel, as neededQualifications & Experience3 or more years' experience in Material Requirements Planning or Inventory Control, ideally in a manufacturing environmentPost-secondary education in Supply Chain or Manufacturing fieldStrong computer skills, including in Microsoft Excel, experience with SAP is an assetExcellent problem solving skills, analytical skills and attention to detailAbility to work cross-functionally with various departments and teamsAbility to work occasional overtime as needed#LI-JM1IPEX is committed to providing accommodations for people with disabilities throughout the recruitment process and, upon request, will work with qualified job applicants to provide suitable accommodation in a manner that takes into account the applicant's accessibility needs due to disability.
