This position is responsible for seeing that guests have a positive first-class dining experience. From your first greeting through meal service and the final good-bye, servers should provide a great start and end of each meal and help ensure that the entire guest experience is an exceptional one.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  1. A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
  2. Ability to stand for long period.
  3. Provides immediate attention to all guests upon seating.
  4. Describes specials of the day to the guests. Answers questions regarding any menu item and offers suggestions of menu items when appropriate.
  5. Takes food and beverage orders from guests and delivers food to guests promptly after preparation.
  6. Follows-up with guest to ensure satisfaction. Replenishes items as needed.
  7. Participates in pre-shift meetings and taste tests.
  8. Maintains organized workstation and side work duties.
  9. Accountable for checks and cash transactions. Utilizes Point of Sales System.
  10. Follows established systems for taking, placing, and delivering orders.
  11. Follows established standards for greeting, cocktail service, food delivery and general service techniques.
  12. Practices tray service for all food and beverage service.
  13. Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
  14. Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hotel shifts for this position are assigned from 7am - 3pm and 3pm - 11pm. All effort is made to ensure that hours are primarily on the shift for which you are hired. However, alternate shifts, extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays may be required on occasion.

Work Environment

This job operates in a bar/restaurant/commercial kitchen environment in an indoor hotel. This role routinely utilizes standard kitchen and bar equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, glassware, serving dishes and utensils. This job also requires use of commercial cleaning supplies consistent with cleaning tables, floors and other surfaces in the restaurant and serving areas.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; bend; kneel; squat; sweep and push; twist; smell; and reach with hands and arms, and requires the ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

  7. Implement management company and hotel's safety and emergency policy & procedure (i.e. evacuation, first aid, etc.) to include removing all safety hazards, following company's programs and safe lifting techniques.
  8. Inform management promptly of any work-related problems or guest complaints.
  9. Provide guest satisfaction.
  10. Promote the hotel through goodwill, courtesy and a positive attitude.
  11. Attend all scheduled training classes and meetings.

Required Education / Experience
  • Minimum: High School Diploma, GED Equivalent or five (5) consecutive years of consistent employment.
  • Preferred: 1 to 2 years' directly related customer service experience. Prior experience within the Hospitality industry preferred.
