**POSITION SUMMARY**

Manages the risk management program for designated projects. Helps ensure government and company compliance. Manages the development and implementation of job-specific plans, coordinates inspections with internal and external representatives and assists with the claims process. Provides safety consulting and expertise to senior level operations managers. Mentors Safety and Risk Management associates to develop within the department.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**

Follows standard McCownGordon procedures and policies to accomplish the following:

Field/ Management Support

* Attends weekly trade partner and OAC meetings to remain involved in project progress and safety matters, as appropriate.

* Helps enforce government and company regulations to ensure associate and trade partner compliance by conducting job site inspections and addressing issues.

* Reviews documentation to ensure all required onsite records and reports are complete, accurate and submitted per established procedures.

* Manages the development and implementation of job-specific safety plans. Schedules jobsite visits and safety audits.

* Researches new regulations and developments in the field of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) and recommends changes in the companys program.

Client/ Owner Relationship

* Represents the Company for all safety related issues with the client and trade partners on designated projects.

* Creates and manages safety documentation to meet owner and contractual requirements.

Risk and Claims Management

* Accompanies safety, health and insurance inspectors on job site inspections.

* Coordinates with insurance carriers on coverage and claim issues.

* Reviews scopes of the work to ensure all possible areas of potential loss are addressed.

* Conducts work area inspections and assists in personal injury and property damage investigations.

* Manages claims submitted to ensure the claim is handled effectively by the insurance carrier to obtain the most favorable results for all parties involved.

Training, Mentoring and Leadership

* Provides safety consulting and expertise to senior level operations leaders.

* Develops and conducts safety training courses to educate associates through internal training programs and other appropriate channels.

* Develops and maintains Company procedures for safety.

* Mentors other associates to expand their knowledge of the safety services. Mentors Safety and Risk Management associates to develop within the department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (minimum requirements *before* going into job)

* Bachelors Degree in Construction, Engineering, Safety, or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

* 12+ years of experience working in the safety field, or related field.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications.

* Valid drivers license.
