**Description**
**PRIMARY JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES**
* **Customer Relationship** (Consistent and professional communications; effective, prompt and courteous communications with respect to difficult situations, relaying service failures, etc.)
* **Carrier Relationship** (Productive carrier relationship development, cover loads, handling and management of difficult situations, etc.)
* **Financial Procedures and Operating Metrics** (Detention management, Lumper management, benchmark rate achievement, expedite decisions and cost, etc.)
* **Effective Shift Handoff** (Communicate all issues and follow up needs for the shift change in a clear and concise manner)
***** WORK SCHEDULE: Tuesday - Friday starting at 5:00 pm *****
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND TASKS**
* Effectively communicate with drivers, dispatchers, shippers, receivers, customers, and teammates nightly.
* Use good operational decision making to maintain service and contain costs for our customers
* Assist drivers and dispatchers with operational needs and resolve problems in a timely manner
* Obtain status of tendered shipments and monitor shipments through transit
* Update load status in system (e.g. loaded, pick-up, delivery, empty, etc.)
* Notify Shipper and/or Receiver of Load Status and reschedule pick-up/delivery appointments when necessary
* Establish and maintain effective relationships with carriers, shippers and receivers through professional and timely communications and inquiry responses
* Secure Capacity for available freight
* Correspond with customer and carrier regarding detention, layover, and other accessorial needs

* Coordination and Collaboration (Ability to collaborate and coordinate with internal Transplace teams (to effectively leverage brokerage services.))
* Basic Math (Includes aptitude to learn how to calculate mileage as it relates to the passage of time)
* Service Orientation (Commits to and enjoys providing exceptional service to internal and external customers)
**EXPERIENCE**
* 2-4 years experience within the Transportation or Logistics Industry preferred.
* Brokerage experience preferred
**EDUCATION**
* High School Diploma or GED is Required
