Position Overview:

We are in search of a Data Engineer who will play a critical role in advancing our enterprise-level platforms, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and optimized for data-driven decision-making. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about technology's role in transforming the financial services industry. You'll be a key player in our mission to deliver efficient, data-centric solutions that drive business success.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop, deploy, and maintain enterprise-grade data platforms, ensuring they meet the highest standards of scalability and availability.

- Automate infrastructure to streamline operations and support data-driven solutions.

- Continuously monitor system and application performance to ensure consistent uptime and optimal efficiency.

- Research, evaluate, and implement new tools and technologies to enhance our data infrastructure.

- Design and analyze technical solutions to meet evolving business needs.

- Participate in troubleshooting, identifying, and resolving technical issues related to data systems and applications.

- Contribute to the development, testing, and modification of software to enhance the efficiency and reliability of data platforms.

- Provide technical support and expertise for various IT projects.

- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for all aspects of the data engineering process.

- Engage in agile ceremonies, including planning sessions, daily standups, backlog grooming, retrospectives, and team demos.

- Collaborate with the project manager/scrum master to identify and remove impediments.

- Rotate through support roles to maintain production environments.

- Coordinate with data operations teams to deploy updates and changes to production systems.

- Offer technical guidance and leadership within the team as needed.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, with relevant experience in ADO/GIT, ETL, SQL, UNIX/Linux, Docker/Kubernetes, API Development, JSON, Kafka, Automated Testing, BDD, Big Data systems, and programming languages such as Java and Python.

- A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

- Proficiency in building real-time data pipelines, search technologies, and various programming languages like Java and Python.

- Strong understanding of ETL processes, UNIX/Linux environments, and orchestration tools.

- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new technologies.

- Strong skills in eliciting, gathering, and analyzing user requirements.

- Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with colleagues across different levels of technical expertise.

- Strong project management abilities with good judgment.

- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with technical and non-technical staff.

- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks efficiently.

- Capable of interpreting business requirements and mapping them to appropriate technical solutions.
