Schedule: 4:00AM - 2:30PM (Overtime and weekends as required)

*May vary, depending on business needs

Hourly Rate: $22.50

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Production Lead will assist in monitoring production of the shift to include, but not limited to, work orders, attendance, and productivity. Assists the Production Supervisor in ensuring standards are met and/or exceeded, while also possessing the ability to professionally interact with different departments within the company.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D
  • Minimum of three (3) years of food manufacturing experience
  • Intermediate Computer, Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook skills is preferred
Desired Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of computers, systems and databases
  • Read and write English fluently
  • Bi-lingual a plus (English and Spanish)
  • Ability to receive written and verbal directions
  • Ability to understand general work processes
Responsibilities
  • Ensure "Safety First" is always practiced, while observing and adhering to all job safety rules
  • Abide by and enforce ALL Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Ensures that production area is always "audit ready"
  • Ensures all machinery is functioning correctly, through the inspection of all Quality Control focus areas, materials, and products, at each step of the packaging process.
  • Reviews production schedule with Production Supervisor. Assigns work orders to Machine Operators
  • Charts progress of production schedules and revisions
  • Prepares Work Order packet
  • Releases and prints Work Orders, verifying against schedule
  • Reviews Work Orders with Machine Operators to ensure accuracy and understanding
  • Communicates revisions to production personnel •Monitors work order completion to ensure labor hours, material and production are accurate and current
  • Coordinates with the warehouse to ensure enough product is available, preventing down time
  • Communication with operators to account for personnel, assist with line balancing when applicable
  • Lead production employee training to ensure all employees are properly trained and signed off to proper operations of machinery and equipment, performance of manufacturing and inspection processes, safety and quality requirements of each operation.
  • Review the Timekeeping System to ensure required timekeeping practices are followed, notify Management of missed, late, or short meal periods, or any other timekeeping discrepancies
  • Abide by and enforce ALL Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Production Supervisor
  • Cover production clerk when required.
  • May perform other assignments from time to time as directed by management
  • Must be flexible and can work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed
Physical Requirements/ Environment
  • Stand for long periods of time and take frequent walks.
  • The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
