The APRN functions in a versatile role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence and autonomy in the practice of Nursing. The APRN has in-depth knowledge of evidence-based practice within a specialty that results in competencies to expand the boundaries of nursing practice by: addressing illness and promoting population health, advancing the practice of other nurses, and developing organizational/system modifications to support and improve the practice of nursing. This clinical expert is committed to evidence-based practice, professional standards of care, and code of ethics.
