Component Underwriter (Remote) Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a detail oriented Component Underwriterto join our client for a temporary, remote opportunity offering up to $30/hour depending on experience As the Component Underwriter, you will be responsible for assessing and underwriting mortgage loan applications while ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines.
Responsibilities of the Component Underwriter Include:
- Adhere to general work requirements of the underwriting role and company guidelines.
- Review moderately complex applications for completeness and update data in the Loan Origination System (LOS) to ensure data integrity.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to clear conditions promptly.
- Analyze and verify documentation to support underwriting decisions.
- Calculate income from tax returns and other income documents.
- Review and confirm assets.
- Analyze appraisals, income, preliminary title work, and purchase contracts.
- High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 3 years' experience as a Mortgage Underwriter.
- Recent knowledge of agency and government guidelines, mortgage loan underwriting regulations, and automated underwriting systems (AUS).
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in reviewing credit, capacity, collateral, and capital.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of providing outstanding customer service in fast-paced environments.
- Adept at complex decision-making, problem-solving, and coordinating workloads around multiple assignments.
