Job DetailsJob LocationIndependent Can Co Belcamp - Belcamp, MDSalary Range$26.68 - $35.68 HourlyDescriptionSUMMARY: The Millwright will perform installations of machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and other drawings. The Millwright will read and examine blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures. Duties could include welding, brazing, plumbing, and carpentry. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Align machines and equipment; using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobsConnect piping to equipment and test unit to evaluate its mechanical operationRepair and lubricate machines and equipmentAssemble and install equipment using hand tools and power toolsInsert shims, adjust tension on nuts and bolts, or position parts using hand tools and measuring instruments to set specified clearances between moving and stationary partsMove machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucksAttach moving parts and subassemblies to basic assembly unit using hand tools and power toolsAssemble machines and bolt, weld, rivet, or otherwise fasten them to the foundation or other structures using hand tools and power toolsMake and install chutes and guards for production equipmentLay out mounting holes using measuring instruments and drill holes with power drillDismantle machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand toolsShrink-fit bushing sleeves, ring liners, gears, and wheels to specified items; using portable gas heating equipmentDismantle machinery and equipment for shipment to installation siteConstruct foundation for machines using hand tools and building materials; such as wood, cement, and steelDevelop specifications from general descriptions and produce sketches of parts or productsAssist in trouble shooting equipment in plantAssist in facility maintenance auditsInstall new equipment in the plant. This includes learning operations, adjustments, and repairs.Replace defective parts of machineAdjust clearances and alignment of moving parts in a machineFollow proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste in accordance with State and Federal lawsAll other duties as assignedSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must have the ability to read and write; ability to read and comprehend technical instructions and manuals; ability to read and draw mechanical drawings, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to write simple correspondence. Must have the ability to analyze technical procedures. Ability to effectively present information in one-on one and small group situations. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must have the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems and collect data to establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
