Franklin Templeton Investment Solutions (FTIS) builds Asset allocation, quantitative and hedged strategies solutions for clients across the globe. FTIS leverages the best thinking from across Franklin Templeton when building and managing investment solutions. We are looking for a Head of Asset Allocation Models Investment Strategy/Solutions Portfolio Manager (SPM) to join our the FTIS Client Investment Solutions team based in the United States.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of this position?
The SPM will be responsible for working with distribution channels and research on investment solutions-related opportunities across the client spectrum with a focus on Asset Allocation Models. Equipped with a deep understanding of the model marketplace, the SPM will draw on a broad suite of investment capabilities managed by Franklin Templeton to grow the AUM of our Asset Allocation Model Platform through development and delivery of innovative investment solutions. Investment solutions may be standardized or customized, with varying degrees of complexity. Reporting to the Head of Advisory Solutions. The SPM will be an integrated member of the FTIS Advisory Channel and will function as an organizational advocate and subject matter expert providing perspective, market intelligence, and guidance on investment solutions to internal distribution and external client counterparts.
Distribution Partnership:
Partner with Distribution leadership:
- to gain alignment on new client opportunities and sales support strategy
- to advocate for sales focus and provide rationale for platforms with best opportunities and promotes those opportunities and FTIS
- to provide accurate sales reporting and identification of target opportunities
- Partner with National Account Managers to identify best opportunities to increase platform participation.
- Partner with National Account Managers to educate home office firms on FTIS multi-asset models offering.
- Partner with FTIS IPMs offering FTIS asset allocation and multi-asset models to Advisors and collate feedback/metrics to share with Distribution.
Grow and Create Multi-Asset Solutions for our Partner Firms:
- Lead the development and growth of our AA Models platform. The client spectrum includes (but is not limited to): Wire house, Independent Broker Dealers, RIA, TAMPs, and Digital Platforms.
- Act as a conduit between FTIS and FT distribution channels to guide and execute models' strategy and support model.
- Meet with key decision makers at existing clients/prospects to represent investment capabilities of FTIS.
- Collaborates with Portfolio Management team to determine the most appropriate portfolio structure given client and marketplace objectives and guidelines.
- Provide advice and insights in connection with market/industry trends
- Perpetually abreast of product performance and positioning, pricing, and competitiveness of offering.
- Coordinates with internal partners on product launches, prospecting, and home office/client engagements
- Partners closely with operational teams to bring best thinking to the day-to-day management of the multi-asset model's product offering to scale business and operating platform to support continued growth
- Partners with Marketing to strengthen the multi-asset models "selling system", enhance promotional support and value add collateral support of business line
- Partners with Client Reporting teams to ensure business can respond effectively to sponsor firm RFP/RFIs and on-going due diligence requests
- Partners with Distribution Intelligence teams to maximize the use and effectiveness of our multi-asset sales reporting data
- Coordinates with operational, legal & compliance teams as required to satisfy business and regulatory requirements and continually assesses risks when business decisions are made
- Connect capabilities of the firm to create model's ecosystem to enhance client engagement through technology, customization, and content creation.
- Deliver presentations at industry conferences and seminars.
- Contribute to the creation of marketing materials and content to represent FTIS appropriately.
- Work with FTIS Research to develop commentary and investment insights to help articulate portfolio positioning, performance, and market outlook.
- BA required, MBA or advanced degree in related field preferred.
- CFA is highly desirable
- Minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience, and experience working with Asset Allocation Model Portfolios
- FINRA Series 7 and 63 licensing required
- Prior experience at asset manager, investment platform, or RIA
- Understanding of needs and use cases of US Financial Advisors
- Experience with face-to-face client interaction
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to articulate complex topics internally and externally.
- Must be self-motivated, organized, and have exceptional time management skills
